Adaption modules are used as interfaces between WebCC server, control systems and programmable logical controls.
These adaption modules transform data requests sent by WebCC server into orders that can be interpreted by the underlying control system oder programmable logic control, which is to be adapted.
Apart of this, adaption modules provide additional functions:
- read current pprocess data
- write process data
- update process data periodically
- read current messages
- update message archives
WebCC as an OPC Client
OPC is an open and interoperable interface standard, based upon the functional requirements of OLE/COM and DCOM technology, that fosters greater interoperability between automation/control applications, field systems/devices, and business/office applications.
Using WebCC as an OPC Client grants access to more than 100 data sources of different manufacturers.
